News Update
CLEVELAND, Ohio (July 25, 2017) – Visiting Nurse Association of Ohio launched it's first-ever "day of giving" campaign #VNAGives. Individuals, companies and staff members participated during the day and throughout the week, raising money so many more patients and families can be supported by this Fund.
About The Patient Emergency Fund
The Patient Emergency Fund provides one-time assistance to help patients and families in times of crisis. It could be used to pay outstanding utility bills so patients can remain at home or to purchase specialized equipment that might not be covered by insurance. In the case of hospice patients, the assistance might be used to help ease financial burdens so the family members and patient can enjoy their remaining days together. The goal of the emergency assistance is to help our patients focus on healing, recovery and regaining their independence.
The Fund was created in 2011 by VNA's clinical staff. In that first year, staff raised over $10,000 through employee contributions and a staff committee was formed to review requests for emergency assistance.
