VNA Hospice Hospital Gowns:
Handmade by our volunteers for our patients

For over 18 years, dedicated VNA Hospice volunteers have generously donated their time and talent by sewing hospital gowns, which are then given to VNA Hospice patients. Each gown is a heartfelt gift of dignity and care, reflecting the compassion and concern for all aspects of a patient’s needs that are the cornerstones of hospice. The gowns help make every day count and are gratefully appreciated by patients and their families.

How can you help?

Fabric is needed.
The VNA of Ohio is a not-for-profit association that doesn’t have a budget to purchase fabric for hospital gowns. We rely upon fabric donations from generous people like you. It takes approximately 3.5 yards of fabric to make each gown. Clean, soft cotton or cotton blend fabric is preferred. Donations can be delivered to VNA of Ohio headquarters at 2500 East 22nd Street in downtown Cleveland. For more information, please call 216-902-7352.

Volunteers are needed.
If you have a generous heart and a willingness to share your time with those who need you most, consider becoming a Hospice Volunteer for the Visiting Nurse Association of Ohio. About Hospice:
Hospice came about in the Middle Ages as a way to comfort and care for the dying. In 2007, an estimated 1.4 million Americans received hospice services. The focus of hospice is to provide a compassionate team of people who help a person with a life-limiting illness or injury die pain-free and with dignity. Expert medical care, pain management, and emotional and spiritual support are expressly tailored to each person’s needs and wishes. The goal is to enhance comfort and quality of life for one’s remaining time.

About VNA of Ohio Hospice:
As one of the founding hospice providers in Cleveland, VNA Hospice compassionately cares for northeast Ohioans in their homes, no matter where they call home – a private residence, an assisted living center, or a nursing home. The VNA Hospice care team includes nurses, physicians, therapists, social workers, counselors, aides and volunteers who work together with patients, caregivers, families and physicians to provide the highest quality support and comfort. A plan of care is developed for each patient and is updated routinely as the patient’s condition changes. All VNA Hospice nurses are required to be hospice-certified, and the VNA of Ohio is the only hospice provider in the area to have such a requirement. VNA Hospice serves patients and their families in Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Portage, and Summit counties. In addition, the VNA Hospice Care Center at MetroHealth’s Old Brooklyn campus provides state-of-the-art inpatient care for comfort and care in a home-like setting.
